Uber Suspended in Taiwan

Uber writes to Taiwanese president after Taiwanese government ordered Apple and Google to stop offering Uber apps on their app stores.

Taiwanese Ministry of Transportation claims Uber is operating in Taiwan as an internet based information platform and not transportation company, which does not represent company activity correctly and therefore Uber is obliged to pay back taxes.

Uber claims that all regulatory requirements are met on its end, as are all tax payments and urges president to collaborate with Uber to resolve the dispute.
